Product Line Manager - Materials Handling

Sandvik Mining and Construction, the world’s leading supplier of drilling and excavation machinery, equipment and tools for mining and construction industries, is currently looking for a Product Line Manager of Materials Handling Products in Surrey, BC.

In this key role, the Product Line Manager is responsible for providing guidance and advice on the implementation of selling strategies for the product range thorugh technical expertise, engineering support and application specialisation. This position will report directly to the Vice President of Surface Mining for Region USA and Canada.

Key performance areas:

•Strategic planning of business development for the product range. This will include the introduction of new products into the market.

•Organizing Product Training for sales and service personnel for the respective products.

•Keeping up to date in relation to competitor product development and competitor product performance.

•Visiting key customers in conjunction with sales team to provide in depth product knowledge. This will include developing direct customer relationships with key clients and to help the aftermarket teams to troubleshoot technical problems.

•Coordinating data from the market for analysis, research and design engineering for the successful development of new product offerings.

•Controlling promotional and marketing material in conjunction with the Marketing Director.

•Ensuring consistency of pricing and product offering when used across customer segments.

Your profile:

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of technical experience in mining or a related industry. Product marketing experience and knowledge of mining equipment and tools used in materials handling applications is also highly desired. Skills in office computer applications, time management, and customer service are required, and a degree in mining, mechanical, or structural engineering is preferred.
