ATEX rating in chain and screw conveyors

Does anyone know of any work carried out on ATEX certifying the internals of conveyors. A lot of people seem to believe that the insides of any enclosed conveyor with a sizeable free air space that is handling powder should be rated internally as Zone 20.

To my knowledge no manufacturers offer conveyors that are certified to this level.

Are the notified bodies correct in stating that it should be zone 20 and what do we have to do to protect all the current conveyors in use that are handling a potentially explosive powder, as the regulations come into force in July this year. Do we need to start fitting explosion panels and bearing temperature monitors?
