NürnbergMesse China Co. Ltd. buys International Powder/Bulk Conference & Exhibition in Shanghai
The purchase of the International Powder/Bulk Conference & Exhibition (IPB) in Shanghai by NürnbergMesse is signed and sealed. Only a few days after the official opening of the NürnbergMesse subsidiary NürnbergMesse China Co. Ltd., the company secured the event rights for the annual exhibition and conference on powder and bulk solids technology in the Asian region. “The event offers the chance to distinctly strengthen the competitive position in China of a core theme of NürnbergMesse. We also expect a clear qualitative and quantitative improvement in the internationality of POWTECH, the leading European exhibition for powder and bulk solids technologies organized in Nürnberg,” says Claus Rättich, Member of the Management Board of NürnbergMesse.
The IPB, which takes place this year in the Shanghai Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center from 23-25 October 2007, has previously been organized by the Chinese exhibition organizer WES. The responsibility for the 2007 event still rests with WES and NürnbergMesse China will take over the organization in 2008. “International companies use the IPB mainly to prepare or push their market entry in China,” explains Axel Bartkus, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse China.
“Our aim is to improve and develop the event concept, in which we will be supported by WES as strategic partner particularly on exhibition matters. An agreement has been reached with the Chinese Society of Particuology concerning cooperation on conferences accompanying exhibitions in addition to the IPB,” continues Bartkus. The World Congress on Particle Technology, the world’s leading event for particle experts, will take place in Peking in 2014 under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jinghai Li, President of the Chinese Society of Particuology. In 2010, the World Congress is in Nürnberg at the same time as POWTECH and TechnoPharm.

The IPB is an exhibition with accompanying conference for the Asian region that is comparable with the European-based POWTECH in Nürnberg in terms of both exhibition theme and exhibitor and visitor groups.
