New Chemical Technology Conference & Expo to Co-locate with the 27th International Powder & Bulk Solids Conference/Exhibition

Co-location Makes Event "All About Process"

Norwalk, CT, November 19, 2003 - The Chemical Technology Conference & Expo, a new event, will co-locate with the International Powder & Bulk Solids Conference/Exhibition from May 4-6, 2004 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont (Chicago), IL.

The Chemical Technology Conference & Expo was launched in response to overwhelming interest from attendees at the 2002 International Powder & Bulk Solids Conference/Exhibition. "We surveyed attendees at the 2002 Powder & Bulk Solids show, and learned that 74% are also interested in seeing the broad range of products, services and equipment that serve the entire Chemical Process Industries (CPI) in addition to the dry products already present," said Kevin Richards, Industry Vice President for Reed Exhibitions Processing Technology Group.

The survey also revealed that 90% of 2002 attendees have the authority to purchase all products, both dry and fluid, related to process manufacturing. "By co-locating the new Chemical Technology Conference & Expo, we can now offer attendees complete processing solutions and give them full lines of processing equipment and technologies, thus connecting buyers and sellers from every chemical process industry, " Richards said.

Current exhibitors who will be showcasing their technologies and services to the entire CPI at the event in May include companies like: Kason, Mixon/Elcan, Processall, Russell Finex, Piab Vacuum Conveyors, Sweco, Kemutec Group, Wyssmont, Canty, Jeinke & Johanson and Littleford Day.

Chemical Equipment, the publication for engineers and executives in process plants that manufacture chemicals, refined petroleum, food, paper and other products, is the official media sponsor of the Chemical Technology Conference & Expo.

The Chemical Technology Conference will feature a series of accredited short courses produced by The Center for Professional Advancement (CFPA), an international leader in continuing education and technical training and official education provider for the event. The program will include in-depth training focused on the following areas:

* Aspects of Fluid Mixing: In Line Mixing and Jet Mixing

* Emulsions: Formulation Strategies and Stability Testing

* Transforming Powders into Applicable Suspensions

"The Center for Professional Advancement is a world leader in providing CPI professionals with practical, insightful training. We're excited to be working with them on this event," commented Cindy Strachan, Director of Industry Development, for Reed.

International Powder & Bulk Solids Conference/Exhibition is a biennial event for process manufacturing professionals who process, handle, package, transport, test and store dry particulates and bulk solids. Sponsored by the Process Equipment Manufacturers' Association (PEMA) and Powder/Bulk Solids magazine, International Powder & Bulk Solids features a four-day conference program and over 500 exhibiting companies.

Both events are produced by Reed Exhibitions, the world's leading organizer of trade and consumer exhibitions with a portfolio of over 430 events in 32 countries.
