Jenike & Johanson is pleased to offer two upcoming courses September 17-19 in Las Vegas, Nevada. These ASME/AIChE sponsored courses on the theory and practice of effective bulk solids handling have been reviewed and approved by the AIChE Education Committee.

Flow of Solids in Bins, Hoppers, and Feeders

Held September 17-18, 2008 in Las Vegas, this course will include topics such as:

• Learning about a wide range of equipment types and the solutions to flow problems commonly associated with each of them.

• Gaining a better understanding of how friction, cohesion, compressibility, and other properties affect the flow of solids through various types of feeders, chutes reactors, bins and hoppers.

• Seeing how to specify and select hardware best suited to various bulk solid flow problems and objectives, including how to retrofit existing equipment to correct flow problems.

• Solving problems associated with solids handling, such as lost production, downtime, extra labor, poor quality control, spoiled material, and unreliable equipment.

• Being alert to the pitfalls in handling bulk solids.

Pneumatic Conveying of Bulk Solids

Held September 19, 2008 in Las Vegas, the course will include topics such as:

• Cover a wide range of equipment types and the solutions to problems commonly associated with each of them.

• Gain a better understanding of common problems which occur during pneumatic conveying

• Understand pneumatic conveying principles of operation, allowing you to evaluate your in-plant systems and determine effectiveness.

• Be able to troubleshoot the source of conveying problems and apply various solution methods to improve efficiency.

• Know how to choose a conveying system layout based upon proper principles of operation.

• Understand how to choose system components.

Who Should Attend?

Design, project, and research engineers, as well as plant operation personnel responsible for solving and preventing flow problems or purchasing solids handling equipment, will benefit from the valuable information provided in these courses.

Jenike & Johanson engineers have been presenting courses for AIChE for over 25 years. The courses have also been upgraded significantly in the past three years. We incorporate several workshops for participants to work out problems, while applying the theory they have just learned.

Registration

Register today and put an end to your time-wasting and money-losing flow problems. Registration is made entirely through ASME. Register online at <http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=0010X5SUctDt...7NILpY4Iow==>www.asme.org/education or call 1-800-THE-ASME (1-800-843-2763)

The course fee for the 2 day Flow of Solids course is $1,095 for ASME/AIChE members and $1,195 for non-members. For the Pneumatic Conveying 1 day course, the fee is $745 for ASME/AIChE members and $845 for non-members. Contact ASME/AIChE to inquire about "early bird" registration discounts. The 2 day course provides 1.5 continuing education credits (CEU's) or 15 professional development hours (PDH's). The one-day course on Pneumatic Conveying provides 0.75 CEU's or 7.5 PDH's.

As an alternative, these courses can be presented at your plant or facility, enabling us to focus on your company's particular flow-related concerns, and discuss related issues in confidence. Contact courses08@jenike.com for further details.

We look forward to providing you with practical, cost-effective solutions to your bulk solids handling problems.
