Suppliers and production specialists from all over the world meet to discuss the latest innovations in powder, granule and bulk solids technology at the 6th International Powder/Bulk Conference & Exhibition (IPB) from 9-11 December 2008. The event takes place in the Everbright Convention & Exhibition Center in Shanghai. The exhibition with its extensive supporting and conference programme is the only trade fair in the Asian region supported by the Chinese Society of Particuology (CSP).

The 6th Symposium held by the Chinese Society of Particuology concentrates on the latest advances in particle science and technology and aims to promote exchange between all sectors that use particles: mining, petrochemicals, aerosol manufacturing, colloids, food science, material science, nanotechnology, paper technology, pharmaceuticals, biological and medical technology, and soft-matter physics. The conference consists of plenary presentations, keynote lectures, discussions with invited speakers, regular oral presentations and poster sessions. The conference language is Chinese.

Experts from Japan, Korea, India, the USA and China attend the highly international conference on the latest advances in nanoparticle technology, particle preparation and application, particle catalysis, fluidization and aerosol technology. The conference language is English.
1st International Symposium on Gasification and its Applications
This symposium is organized for the first time and offers seminars for experts on gasification technologies for coal, biomass, waste and their applications in various industrial fields. The conference language is English. An additional feature is the first Japanese Day, at which experts from the Association of Powder Process Industry and Engineering, JAPAN (APPIE) present various topics.
Live explosions – Explosive issues
Industrial safety and explosion protection are a hotter topic than ever before in the powder and bulk solids processing industry and process technologies sector. IPB 2008 deals with this explosive issue. The daily dust explosions in front of the exhibition centre impressively demonstrate the possible hazards.
The explosions at IPB are presented by HOERBIGER for the first time in China.
International media partner organizes tutorial
The Chinese edition of the “bulk solids handling” magazine launched by the event’s international media partner, Vogel Industrie Medien, Germany, will be presented during IPB 2008. For more than 25 years, the journal on bulk solids handling has been informing experts from all around the world to bridge the gap between academic theory, industry and practical application. Vogel Industrie Medien is also organizing the tutorial on “Pneumatic conveying and the filling and discharging of silos” on 10 December 2008. Experts at this 1-day event will exchange ideas and opinions on the principles of these technologies. Speakers: Prof. Dr. Mark Jones, University of Newcastle, Australia, and Dr. David Mills, independent pneumatic conveying expert, Great Britain.
Outlook: World Congress on Particle Technology at POWTECH 2010
The World Congress on Particle Technology (WCPT) including the PARTEC Congress takes place at the same time as POWTECH 2010 from 26-29 April 2010. This world congress will concentrate and discuss the latest results and experiences from all segments of particle technology. Over 1,500 scientists from all over the world discuss their research findings on the four days of the event. It is already confirmed that WCPT 2014 will take place in China.
