Call for Speakers - Powder Handling & Processing Conference

Attention Prospective Speakers!

The Powder Handling and Processing Expo is a one-day event for anyone from any industry involved in the handling or processing of dry powders and granular materials. The conference and expo will be held on the 25th June 2008 at the Telstra Dome in Melbourne, Australia.

Focus of the conference is a comprehensive range of educational talks about current topics relating to the powder handling and processing industry.

Topics:

We are looking for contributions about current developments and industry best practices from the whole field of Powder Handling and Processing, e.g.

* Mixing and Blending

* Sifting

* Conveying/Conveyor Systems

* Sampling/Analysis/Quality Control

* Batch Processing

* Weighing/Batch Control

* Dust Collection/Containment

* Dust Explosions

* Drying/Evaporation

* Milling/Sizing

* Product Flow

Topics could include;

* Industry developments

* Industry best practices

* Technological changes

* Health and safety issues

* Legal issues

* New product developments

We would especially like to see contributions with actual case studies, presenting effective solutions to powder handling and processing problems.

Submitting Contributions:

Registration of interest as a presenter should be made by email to paul@powderhandling.com.au and should include an abstract or description of the proposed presentation.

Length of the Contributions:

Presentations should be approximately 45 minutes in length, in order to allow some time for questions and for preparing the stage for the following speaker.

Format:

Presentations are to be made in PowerPoint, with a copy in pdf format. Presentations will be made available to delegates in pdf format, downloaded from the PowderHandling web site after the event.

Selection of Contributions:

Contributions are selected based on their content and compatibility with the rest of the program. Please understand that we cannot accept all contributions, depending on the number and quality of the submissions. Applications are subjected to the following review;

Originality - Topics must provide a unique perspective, viewpoint or way of doing something.

Interest - Topics must contain new and/or relevant material.

Educational Value - An objective presentation that meets the educational needs of the audience is optimal to enhancing the credibility of the speaker, the speaker's employer and the conference. Sales pitches are NOT considered.

Important Dates:

* 14th March, 2008 - End of the Call for Papers. All contributions need to be submitted by this date in order to qualify.

* 21st March, 2008 - Notification of acceptance of all contributions.

* 28th March, 2008 - Final acceptance. We ask all invited speakers to give their final acceptance by this date.

* 30th May, 2008 - Last date for submitting slides.

* 25th June, 2008 - Conference date.

Substitutions:

Speaker substitutions are not allowed, except in the case of an emergency. In the event that a speaker cannot fulfill his/her commitment due to an emergency, a substitute may be submitted in writing for approval, however this does not guarantee a speaking slot for the substitute.

Financial Assistance:

Speakers are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements and expenses.
