Vortex Valves International is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Zhang as the new Sales and Marketing Manager for Vortex’s Asia-Pacific operations. Tony will oversee Vortex’s new office based in Pudong, Shanghai. Tony’s experience, education, and core values stood out amongst the 26 candidates interviewed for the position.
“Vortex’s dedication to service on a global scale is further highlighted by the establishment of Vortex Valves Asia-Pacific. It will help us forge even stronger working relationships with our clients, partners, and agents throughout the region,” says Travis Young, Managing Director of Vortex Valves International.
Tony Zhang graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and is currently finishing his MBA. Tony’s work experience includes a sales position with Messe Frankfurt, a German trade fair organizer for the consumer goods, textiles, architecture, technology and design, as well as, automotive technology sectors. His most recent position was as the General Manager of China Operations for P/Kaufman, a New York-based textile company.
Tony’s hobbies and interests include teaching children Chinese history at the Shanghai Museum, hiking, mountaineering, and traveling. Tony is married to wife, Julia Zhou, and resides in Shanghai.
Over the next few months Tony will be focused on establishing the office, developing marketing programs, organizing operational budgets, and learning about Vortex’s products and services. Tony will also be a key figure in Vortex’s exhibits at the Chinaplas 2009 and ProPak tradeshows in Asia.
For more than 30 years, Vortex Valves has provided quality Slide Gates, Diverters, and Iris Valves designed specifically for handling dry bulk solids in gravity, vacuum, dilute, or dense phase applications.
