New Ship Building Technology

Posted on 19. Aug. 2006 - 07:39

I would encourage you to review the post at Forums > Silos, Hoppers, Bins & Domes > Revolutionary New Hexagon Storage System

https://forum.bulk-online.com/showth...&threadid=8110

The "Modular Load-Bearing Structural Column", which is the basis for the hexagonal storage silos can also be used to dramatically reduce the cost of a ships internal structure. Whether the ship is internally compartmentialized in hexagon shapes or just used to replace the conventional I-beam internal structure, some fantastic cost savings can be realized.

The hexagon is natures strongest structure for a plurality of compartments or structural supports. The hexagon is also natures most efficient use of space and material. This innovation allows the use of high-speed forming of coil steel as opposed to fabrication of I-beams ~ this in itself is a huge cost savings.

Under one of my response threads there is a weblink to the patent application that better defines how this column can be used for ship building.

I encourage Sea Gate.ltd. and all other readers who have an interest in ship building to give this revolutionary technology a look.
