Mandated by Borouge and contractual partner Agility, KARL SCHMIDT SPEDITION has set up during a mere 2 years of construction a state-of-the-art logistics plant in Shanghai, featuring a 66,000 m warehouse, 8 tilting platforms for containers, 4 packaging lines with bagging installations, palletisers and stretch hood wrapping as well as 2 additional Big Bag lines.
Trial operations started at the beginning of 2010. An experienced team of SCHMIDT employees was training the Chinese staff. Meanwhile, the equipment is running in full operation. The official start-up and transfer ceremony took place on June 9, 2010, with many guests attending and featuring an extensive entertainment program.
