Loedige’s highly efficient shovel introduced at ACHEMA 2015

At ACHEMA 2015, Gebr. Lödige Maschinenbau GmbH will be presenting a new type of shovel for mixing solids in horizontal Ploughshare mixers. Due to the design of the patented High Efficiency Shovel® it requires less drive power compared to a standard shovel. Substantial energy savings are the result.

Due to its unique design, the Loedige High Efficiency Shovel®

requires less drive power than a standard shovel

The innovative shovel concept of the High Efficiency Shovel® – in short HES® – immediately catches the eye: in contrast to standard shovels, the solution developed by the Paderborn-based mixer experts features an opening. The latter results in a significant reduction of about 40% in the starting torque and reduces the idle power. A lower mixer motor output is thus required. The special efficiency of the shovel is also apparent in the operation of the Ploughshare mixer: the torque is reduced by about ten percent, enabling further energy savings. The HES® is suitable for industries in which heavy products are processed or where the individual particles of solid materials tend to clump – for example in the construction industry. The new shovel design combines high efficiency with the qualities of a standard Lödige shovel: the HES® is maintenance-friendly while achieving a mixing quality comparable to known systems.

A further Loedige machine on display at ACHEMA is the consistently cost-effective Ploughshare® batch mixer FM 130 D. Designed for processing bulk materials, this model is characterized by short mixing times and a high level of batch reproducibility.

With the Ploughshare® batch mixer FKM 2400 D Loedige unveils a machine that is extremely versatile, due to its various optional configurations. Wetting and granulation fixtures are available, and even pumpable masses can be processed.

The coater series LC was specially conceived for the coating of tablets. All three sub-processes relevant for coating tablets with a film were optimized for the purpose: spraying lacquers, mixing tablets and drying of the same. Thanks to sophisticated process technology the LC 70 works up to 40% faster than conventional machines.

The advanced operator interface of a touchscreen panel developed by Loedige for its process technological products guarantees the intuitive operation of the machines. Fast start-up of the systems is possible – and that quickly pays off in daily working routines.
