Flow Distribution in a Vacuum Line

hi, I am new to this field. I want to calculate the flow distribution in a vacuum line.my vacuum line having 5 openings @50mm dia and the header line is 80mm dia. each opening has 5meter distance. my vacuum system having suction of 3000mmH2O and 600m3/hr airflow. I am going to work with 2 points at a time. I am going to open 1st & 5th point. what will be the vacuum and airflow at 1st & 5th point. and how can I calculate it. is there any theoretical formula or method to calculate it, please guide me..... thank you.....

QUOTE=johngateley;84291]Most of the airflow will disappear through 1st point and any other opening will receive much less. If you're going to have 5 points then you need 5 balanced lines or else 5 variable adjustable sonic nozzles to control the flow. But the nozzle will wear and need constant calibration. In filter baghouses when a bag rots or rips then most of the air dashes through the opening. Your situation is the same.[/QUOTE]

Dear sir;

what will be the values at this condition,how to calculate it...

Hi, my vacuum cleaner flow rate is 600m^3/hr @80mm duct and depression is 3000mmH2O.

how much material it can collect in one hour? please tell me the formula..

material is dry powder

density of material 2650Kg/m3.

size 3micron to 90 micron.... filter area 4 m^2

manual filter cleaning ...

how to calculate the material flow rate with airflow and vacuum,,..

Dear Mohan,

The geometry (length, direction and bends) of your sytem is missing.

Then, the pressure-flow curve of your fan is also missing as well as the feeder system.

A pneumatic conveying calculation is not a matter of a formula.

In this case, a number of calculations has to be made, for finding the pressure drop at different rates and air flows.

The resulting curves have to matched with the fan curve and that is one possible operating point.

If the air only pressure drop results in an airflow, which is already too low to move the material,

the answer to your question is:

material flow rate = 0

Have a nice day

Dear sir;

I want to calculate the approximate value.. then I can get some idea.

I want to collect the material to first floor at 13meter height with 80nb pipe , pipe 80nbx13m ,2 long bends and 2m 80dia duct hose...

please tell me some calculation method,

flow rate is 600m^3/hr @80mm duct and depression is 3000mmH2O.

material is dry powder

density of material 2650Kg/m3.

size 3micron to 90 micron.... filter area 4 m^2

manual filter cleaning .

Central Vacuum System

Dear sir;

I have a vacuum cleaner of 2000m^3/hr &5000mmH2O at opening 100mm.

I want to design the central vacuum system having totally 50 points @40mm opening. any 20 points should be operating at a time..the plant length is 400meters&vacuum units should be installed in one place.

how can I design.

is it possible to connect multiple vacuum unit and make a single header for the entire plant..

please give me some brief idea..

Mohan,

Without experience with this sort of problem you are flogging a dead horse. Go to one of the reputable makers of central vacuum cleaning systems and get a quotation for design, supply and install.

Dear sir;

how to find the capturing distance of 40dia opening with 30m/s velocity. what will be the capturing distance from the opening,.

Take The Hint!

If the incoming particle diameter is 40mm the capture distance is zero.

Dear sir;

I want to collect the sea sand to the fourth floor of building which is 20meter height. I have a vacuum cleaner 4500mmH2O&500m^3/hr at Dia80 mm. how much vertical distance it can collect the sea sand if I will put 50NB ss304 pipe and 5meter 50dia hose.
