Horizontal Screen with Linear Motion

Posted in: , on 8. Apr. 2014 - 00:13

Hello,

We are working on a 3 deck horizontal screen project which will handle the following job:

- Material: Bauxite(material is coming from barrel washer with water)

- Capacity: 350 tph

- Bulk density: 2,45 t/m3

- Feed size: 0-70 mm

- Required product size: 0-2,2 mm(38% in feed material), 2,2-70 mm

- Bottom deck screen mesh size: 2,5 x 25 mm slot polyurethan media

- Middle and top deck mesh size: 10 mm, 20 mm steel wire(these size can be changed due to material gradation)

- Screen operation angle: we are thinking to incline the screen 5 degree to use gravity force

Our aim to screen out -2,2 mm with maximum efficieny. According the above information we have designed screen body in solidworks and we made some calculation to determine to correct amplitude and vibromotor size. I will share my calculation but before sharing these calculation i would like get your comments & informations how you are proceeding and making your calculation for those kind of inquiries to determine & obtain all necesarry calculation. I really appreciate

if you can able to step by step explain these issues.

I think i have shared all necessary initial date but if you require any additional information please let me know.

Many thanks in advance & Best Regards

I am not sure if you'll get -2 from the standard screen. You should have water sprays or make the bottom deck Flip-Flow type deck

Sir,

Thanks for your comments. We are going to put water nozzles on each deck. Also material will come with water from washer barrel.

The point that i would like to deeply understand is all desing steps which are necessary to do with these kind of screens.

I really appreciate if you can able to share your knowledge on this issue.

Thanks,

Tough Fine Screening Job Here

dear sir: this job is very tough FINE screening.....so care must be taken to ensure you do the mathematical calc properly in VSMA. run the numbers using the VSMA screen sizing formula and it will tell you the proper square footage needed to do this job at 95% EFFICIENCY as the standard load in number for VSMA.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your answer.

I have already run aggflow for this issue and as i see the screen size is looking fine to do this job. Beside this the screen will replace another old screen which is working on site. So that we need to use existing steel structure.

Except screen size i am just wondering how do you process calculation step by step after determining screen size.

Thanks,

Screen Design

Screen design steps in my idea:

1- input data definition

2- screen area calculation

3- screen width selection

4- screen length calculation

5- amplitude, frequency and motion pattern selection

6- screen weight estimation

7- drive (unbalance weight, vibrating motor, exciter..) selection

8- springs selection: type(rubber or steel), quantity, position

9- design screen body and stiffeners

10- modal and stress analysis of body and modify thickness or stiffeners

Screen size is function of the open area of screening media( + some other factors) but I understand that the screen envelope is already determined by the existing structures. Please let me know if you need some assistance with the screens design.
