Criteria for Steelcord Belts Replacement

Dear experts,

In the fabric belt, the worn out top cover and exposure of first ply gives indication for the necessity of belt replacement. How is it decided in steelcord belts ?

Thank you verymuch & lots of regards,

There are various standards which specify a minimum cover thickness of the carcass (ply or steel cord).

I propose that it would be generally not recommended to use the conveyor belt until the carcass was visible for various reasons, including resistance to damage and fatigue performance.

There are various papers floating around about quantitatively assessing the damage to the carcass cf suitability for ongoing service.
