The new robust moisture probe SONO-VARIO Xtrem measures directly in the screw conveyor deploying radar technology.
In particular in screw conveyors, due to their mechanical construction, performing an accurate moisture measurement directly in the material flow often represented a problem. With the new moisture probe SONO-VARIO Xtrem, the IMKO GmbH is presenting a new generation of moisture probes. Due to their robust design and construction, these are ideally suited for integration into screw conveyors and pipe systems for the respective moisture measurement. The probe also features an auto-correction function. This means that once the probe is calibrated, the automatic measurement value correction/compensation enables significantly longer operating periods without the necessity of having to perform corrective re-calibrations.
As already confirmed by experts within the bulk goods industry, the TRIME® - technology, at the measurement of the material moisture content, offers significant advantages compared to the conventional micro-wave and capacitive measuring methods. The measurement with TRIME®- technology, for instance, is not influenced by temperature deviations, differing conductivities or varying grain-size distribution. The secret behind the new technology is the deployment of state-of-the-art TRIME® - radar technology ( Time-Domain-Reflectometry ). The SONO-probes precisely measure the water content via an electro-magnetic TDR pulse with 1 GHz frequency up to the point of saturation and even beyond. In addition, the probes also deliver valuable information in regard to the mineral content and the consistency of the measured material.
