In India, the development of Cement Industries has been very remarkable as compare to Gypsum Industries.The main reason behind this is that more then 80% gypsum related industries falls in small scale up to 5-8 tpd capacity and most of the people involve in this business does not have feel for the this product.India has a good amount of raw gypsum,phospho gypsum,marine gypsum and FGD gypsum but due to all this we are now importing Gypsum Boards in the tune of 3-4 million sq m/month and also calcined gypsum.Only two majors-LAFARGE AND SAINT GOBAIN are the major players in India.This is the right time to pitch big houses in this profitable business.
As per our studies India need to import about 4-500 million sq m /year gypsum board with in next 3-4 years to meet its requirement.
