Wood Pellets Storage

Posted in: , on 25. Aug. 2010 - 15:12

My company are looking to import woodchip pellets and store them in a flat store for possibly 3 months, does anyone know of any problems that we might occur in doing this they would be discharged by a buhler ship unloader and conveyed to the flat store via pnuematic conveyors.

OK, you are going to use a pneumatic conveying system from the ship unloader to the store.

But how are you going to distribute the pellets in the storage building??

Dear ibbo's,

Are you asking for possible problems during storing or for possible problems in the conveying process.

Is the Buhler ship unloader also pneumatic?

Spreading the wood pellets in the flat storage can be done by a multiple outlet pipe system with diverters.

Have a nice day

I presume you've already checked with the original equipment suppliers that the installed equipment is suitable for this new product?

Spontaneous combustion

Dust explosion

Production of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide

Enough problems to get you started

Wood pellets storage is better stored in warehouses were you can ensure safety with them and provide you awareness on how you can handle in an accessible manner.
