Solutions Forum for the process industry hits all the right notes
This year’s MTL Solutions Forum by COOPER Crouse-Hinds was again a huge hit with delegates. With a comprehensive seminar programme centred around an exhibition, delegates were able to glean expert advice and guidance on process industry standards and directives relating to plant and equipment, as well as discovering the latest technologies and solutions for hazardous area applications.
Feedback from visitors to this year’s COOPER Crouse-Hinds – MTL Solutions Forum has been extremely positive, with many delegates stating that the seminars were “extremely informative”, “very relevant to their particular industry” and overall an “excellent event”.
Held at the Mercure Ardoe House Hotel & Spa in Aberdeen on 17th June 2010, the Forum was attended by more than 50 delegates with a variety of backgrounds and process industry sectors, including oil & gas, petrochemicals, food and beverage, chemicals and metal processing. Job functions of delegates ranged from senior technical directors and project managers, to plant and process engineers, design engineers and electrical contractors.

The Solutions Forum consisted of two separate seminar streams, covering both application and technology-based topics. These were supported by a central exhibition, where delegates were given the opportunity to discuss their specific application issues with experts from COOPER Crouse-Hinds product teams covering the MTL and CEAG ranges.
The seminars dealt with a number of different topics, including Wireless Technologies for Hazardous Areas; Marking of electrical equipment for use in hazardous areas; International standards and ATEX Directives review; the availability, reliability and safety of process plant and equipment; cyber security in modern process networks; surge protection: analysing risk; alarm management and reporting; fieldbus networks for onshore and offshore applications; taking Ethernet into hazardous areas; and intrinsically-safe systems loop calculations.
