Yes,
Design the loading chute to gently load the material without causing scouring or surface cut and gouging damage. A belt surface void of depressions will clean much easier than the contrary. ■

Maybe,
Managing the properties of the conveyed material (to some extent)
Alternative cleaning systems
Belt wash stations
Belt turn overs

Turnovers, maybe, depending if the conveyor is long enough. We do not see turnovers on conveyors with less than 200 m pulley centers and usually more than 500 m pulley centers. ■

Minimising Carry-back on Conveyors
Hi All,
I am doing a project on spill management. We have a lot of trouble with our belt cleaners and scrapers not cleaning the conveyor belt sufficiently, allowing the wet/clay/sticky ore to stick to the belt and fall off later down the system creating quite a mess.
Has anyone had experience in this type of field and had some success, or know of any new technologies which can be used for this problem?
Your help would be appreciated.
