DT and DR rotary valves pass the ATEX Explosion / Flame containment test
The YOUNG-MASSA DR and DT series of rotary valve have successfully passed test in accordance with requirements of directive EN15089 “Explosion isolation system” providing for use of the valves as an explosion /flame barrier under the ATEX 94/9/EC directive.
Each valve size tested is subject to a series of 20 full explosion tests with powder St2 having an explosive rating Kst > 200 to 300 [bar*m*s-1] and testing procedures set to produce a pressure peak of 11bar, this means that the valves will withstand a 10barg explosion pressure.
The tests are conducted using visual recording instruments to try to detect spark / flame passage; the Rotary valves were required to pass all test for acceptance.
YOUNG-MASSA is now able to offer Explosion /Flame barrier certificate for DT and DR rotary valves and size between 6 and 12.
