World Congress on Particle Technology: First-class congress program

• Top speakers from more than 30 countries

The World Congress on Particle Technology (WCPT6 2010), supported by PARTEC, takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg parallel to the international exhibitions POWTECH and TechnoPharm from 26–29 April 2010. WCPT has been the world congress for all sectors concerned with particle technology for decades.

The latest findings from all areas of particle technology are combined and discussed at this unique 4-day world congress held in English. Some 1,000 scientists from all over the world are expected at WCPT6 in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg this April to source information and exchange views on 13 subjects: “Modelling and Simulations”, “Granulation”, “Bulk Solids”, “Crystallisation”, “Particle Characterisation”, “Nanoparticles”, “Aerosols”, “Comminution and Grinding”, “Science and Engineering of Particulate Materials”, “Multiphase Flow and Separation”, “Interface Controlled Systems and Processes”, “Food / Pharma / Life Science Applications” and “Others”.

Its interdisciplinary orientation means that the congress is not only suitable for particle technology experts, but for everyone working in the fields of material sciences and technologies, electronics, and pharmaceutical and food ingredients.

“I am delighted we can cover such a large spectrum of highly topical issues,” says Congress Chairman Dr. Ir. Gabrie Meesters, DSM Food Specialties. “WCPT6 is not only an outstanding knowledge forum, but also an ideal platform for sourcing information about innovations in the fields of equipment design and manufacturing.”

The participants can listen to interesting lectures such as: Prof. Dr. L. Morawska, Queensland University of Technology, Australia: “Is man or nature engineering indoor particles?” , Prof. Dr. J. A. M. Kuipers; University of Twente, Netherlands: “Multi-Scale Simulation of Poly-Disperse Dense Gas-Particle Flows” , and Dr. P. Mort; Proctor and Gamble, Cincinnati, USA: “Optimization of particulate processes – implications of intermediate flows for batch and continuous processes” , to mention only a few. The noted expert Prof. Dr. W. Peukert, University of Erlangen, Germany, opens the lecture series with his lecture on “Particle Technology for Materials Science” at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, 26 April.

The complex program comprising 13 subjects covers nine rooms and two poster presentations. For ease of understanding, the program is listed under various criteria on the home page at www.wcpt6.org/en/program.

Visitors can register online

The visitor registration facility is now online and those interested can register conveniently and easily at any time at www.wcpt6.org/registration. The congress ticket is not only for the top-calibre and unique programme of lectures, but also provides free admission to the parallel international exhibitions POWTECH and TechnoPharm. The price includes the opening event on Sunday evening, 25 April, and the two “Poster Evenings” on 27 and 28 April. These events offer outstanding opportunities to talk to experts and participants, gain in-depth knowledge and make new contacts.
