SGS delivers reverse engineered reducers

five weeks ahead of schedule

The new reducers can be directly installed without any system modification

St. Ingbert, 22.12.2009 - A nameplate, two pictures and a very tight schedule, that was all the information received to manufacture five bevel spur gears, which are delivered to the plant in Kazakhstan today – five weeks ahead of schedule.

SGS is once more fulfilling its promise: "We set everything in motion for our clients".

In compliance with the customer requirements the new reducers have to be installed without any modification to the existing system and shall replace 1:1 the old TGL-gears made in the former GDR. The new reducers are fully compatible concerning gear ratios and interface dimensions, simply ‘tailor-made’ in accordance with the client’s needs.

"SGS did a complete reverse engineering based on the little information received", says Mr. Hackenberger, CEO of SGS. Helpful here was for SGS the wealth of experience in this field of expertise. "The new reducers are custom manufactured in compliance with state-of-the-art engineering practices".

The early delivery date was also very important for the client, since the existing reducers had to be exchanged earlier than planned.

"We are very satisfied that SGS recognized our wish without hesitation and is able to deliver those reducers way ahead of time" says the client. The work was performed very professionally and new orders for gear reducers are in discussion already.
