New CrossCut blade system for effective and energy-efficient shredding

WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH, Germany offers an entirely new worldwide-patented CrossCut type of blade for all sizes of its single shaft shredders. The square rotor blades have a saw-tooth shaped grooved profile around the edges that enables enhanced ground material quality along with significantly reduced energy consumption and long blade lifetimes.

These new rotor blades can be reversed and a number of times and are suitable for shredding of plastics, wood, paper, cardboard and industrial waste. Due to the grooved technique used, the intake behaviour is markedly better than with standard blades, whereby both faster shredding and therefore higher throughputs are possible. This furthermore ensures quiet running of the rotor, helping to preserving the bearings. The evenly shredded material is characterised by homogenous particle size distribution and very low content of fine material particles.

The rotor blades are offered in different blade qualities, so that settings can be made according to hardness or toughness of the task in hand, as well as in terms of the proportion of contaminants expected or in order to obtain optimum blade lifetimes. The rotor blades are available with edge lengths of 40, 50, 60 and 80 mm.

The new CrossCut rotor blades can also be used in operation of single shaft shredders from other producers.

WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH has been constructing shredding machines for quite different tasks for more than 25 years for more than 25 years, among others, for customers in the plastics, wood and recycling industries throughout the world. The company employs worldwide staff of approx. 200, owns sales locations in France, United Kingdom, America and Japan, as well as having more than 50 representative agencies worldwide. The production programme includes, among others, single shaft shredders, twin and four-shaft shredders, cutting mills (granulators), briquetting presses and lines, as well as accessories.
