Sandvik crushers and screens star on Chinese Television as awareness of recycling of construction materials grows

Sandvik Mining and Construction China have recently been at the forefront in the servicing of the rapidly expanding Chinese construction industry’s recycling needs. To this end, Sandvik have recently announced the sale of a Sandvik QI340 tracked impact crusher, and a QA340 tracked Doublescreen, to the leading demolition and recycling company, Huangpu Regeneration Resource and Utilize (HRRU) Co. Ltd.

Huangpu Regeneration Resource and Utilize (HRRU) Co. Ltd, and its owner, Mr. Chen Guangbiao, are well known throughout the embryonic Chinese demolition and recycling industry, and are seen as key figures within it. Thus, the decision of Mr Chen to invest in the very latest mobile screening and crushing equipment from Sandvik for demolition applications is viewed with great interest as an indicator of Chinese moves to embrace the recycling of construction materials in a big way.

Mr. Chen has used his position as a key figure in the demolition and recycling industry to create awareness of both the environmental needs to recycle demolition and construction materials, but also to lobby central government in order for them to support recycling initiatives. Mr. Chen’s lobbying activities have been particularly evident in seeking a new policy supporting the demolition and recycling industry through the Ministry of Construction and Provincial government. The aim is to bring in measures to incentivise construction companies to recycle their demolition material and associated construction materials.

In order to further assess the demolition and recycling industry, and its contribution to the Chinese construction industry, the Vice Ministry of Construction accompanied the Vice Jiangsu Provincial Governor for a fact finding visit to a jobsite of Mr Chen’s Huangpu Regeneration Resource and Utilize company on the 20th of November. This was also attended by over two hundred people from the media, and the demolition and recycling industry. Another purpose of the visit was be to inspect the Sandvik QI and QA 340 screening and crushing equipment; a great deal of interest has been generated by the sale as the initial demonstrations were shown on the daily news programme on CCTV Channel 1, which has a potential audience of over hundred million people.

The interest is understandable as the Sandvik QA340 is seen as the ultimate mobile screening system designed for the demolition, recycling, construction and minerals extraction industries. The QA340 represents the greatest innovation in mobile screening systems as it resolves the conflicting principles previously associated with providing larger screening areas on mobile plant. Incorporating the patented double screen box the QA340 facilitates greater accuracy, productivity and a more efficient screening system. The Doublescreen system facilitates massive throughput, mobility and a class leading screening area.
