STEINERT Germany’s daughter company STEINERT Australia has repeatedly supplied BOOMERANG™ magnets to Coal Port loading facilities in Newcastle/Australia to remove tramp iron. This magnet is one of four Boomerang magnets currently installed at the two major Coal Port Loaders in Newcastle. The Boomerang and Super magnets were specifically designed for the wide and fast travelling belts encountered at Coal Port Loading Facilities”. 2 Boomerangs and 1 Super were supplied for this project.
The BOOMERANG™ is shaped corresponding to the natural trajectory of the material, which allows long resident time in a multi pole magnetic field and maximum attracting forces.
The details are impressive:
Conveyor: Width 2500mm, speed 5.25m/s,
Flow rate: 8500 tons per hour, depth of coal 520mm
Magnet- Weight 43000kg, power consumption 64kW, dual heat exchangers, suspended from a moveable trolley
The orders keep coming back but not the magnets, they last and last and last.
