Delegates declare the SHAPA Knowledge Conference a Great Success

The SHAPA one day Knowledge Conference held on Monday 5th October 2009 at the Imago Holywell Park Conference Centre in Loughborough was heralded as a resounding success by the attending delegates in their feedback questionnaires.

The conference offered the opportunity for users of solids handling equipment to hear about the latest regulatory issues, their interpretation and implementation, ways to minimise cost and maximise profit and the latest ideas and thinking on different aspects of solids handling techniques from some of the foremost authorities in their fields.

The agenda included Keynote Addresses by Iain Evans of the Health and Safety Executive on ‘Regulation, Compliance and Enforcement Policy’ and Richard Clarke from the Environment Agency on ‘Better Regulation, Better Industry’.

Delegates were able to choose individual sessions from two parallel streams of presentations, one covering Commercial & Compliance topics and the other a variety of aspects of Solids Handling Technologies.

In addition to the presentations there was the opportunity to speak with a number of SHAPA members who were illustrating their company’s capabilities on table top displays.

Due to the success of this conference SHAPA are now intending to make this an annual event and an important date in the industry calendar so look out early next year for details of the 2010 conference.
