Screening Slag

Posted in: , on 4. Oct. 2009 - 06:08

Hello everyone Dennis here from Ohio,USA first post and first time

working at a crushing/screening plant hope it goes well.

I was wondering if I could get some input on what we are doing and that

is crushing slag from a steel mill. Lets start with the screener the

plate on the side says it's an Allis Chalmers S/N B55232. The big

problem is clogging of the 1.25 top deck more in front of vibrator. Is

there a way to make it vibrate more or can it be put it on an incline?

Clogging Slag Openings

Hello Dennis: Welcome to our forums. It is good, a pic and everything, perfect.

What you will find is there typically is NOT an easy black and white immediate answer, so we must troubleshoot the app. first a bit:

1. Screening at 1 1/4" openings, on all of top deck ...correct?

2. Clogging these openings...correct?

3. That AC horizontal screen should have a 1/2" nominal STROKE length...TBC

4. the stroke ANGLE is very important...typically at 45 deg angle to horizontal

5. Unit is built for zero degrees most likely, as most, but can go up to 10 deg angle by the rules of VSMA,

SOME Q:

1. ADVISE topsize of material going onto the deck pls

2. carrot shaped or cubical?

3. free flowing or not?

4. is material NEARSIZE jammed in the hole openings?

...................

i WOULD like to see a STROKE CHECK, TO confirm the length of the stroke and the angle of the stroke. CONFIRM speed of screen box by taching it.

NOTEd (2) 90deg angle feed conveyors to feed plate.....are they dropping onto the feed plate of the AC or directly down onto the WIRECLOTH OPG?

Take stroke check at all 4 corners and at centre of screen box around overhead drive and advise.

As the Beatles said...."We can work it out"
