Early this past March 2009, half of the Heyl & Patterson employees participated in a new wellness program and walked out the door. Each was given a pedometer and asked to start walking to improve overall wellness within the organization.
An on-line Diet Planner, Personal Trainer and weekly meetings were included in the program.
The goal was “how far can we walk in 13 weeks”. The employees made it to the Texas Panhandle by the end of the first 13 weeks. Progress is tracked on a map and the route chosen is the scenic Route 66. The next 13 week program will continue our tour of America in an effort to increasing the overall corporate wellness.
