TAIM WESER at R-Energy Argentina

GOOD TAIM WESER RESULTS IN R-ENERGY 2009-ARGENTINA

TAIM WESER presented its proposals in renewable energies in the R-energy fair held in June in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The company's developments aroused a lot interest, particularly its biomass gasification technology for electric and thermal energy production, a product considered extremely attractive given its high level of development and competitiveness.

TAIM WESER presented its latest developments in wind and biomass technologies at R-Energy Argentina 2009, two sectors in which the Spanish firm is at the forefront of innovation. The fair, which took place from 10 to 12 June, brought together exhibitors from all over the world, turning the Argentinean capital into a debating centre on alternative energy matters.

TAIM WESER’s Renewable Energy Director, Luis Monge, attended the fair and was extremely pleased with the event: “R-energy shows the growing interest for renewable energy in Argentina and this country's wholehearted commitment to reaching a prominent position in this sector”.

TAIM WESER, whose market is totally diversified both geographically and by activity sector, has been working in Argentina for several years, where it has carried out several bulk material handling and elevation projects and installations, fields in which the firm is a leader. It is now planning to extend this success to its renewable energy activity, opening a market, the Argentinean, which offers a big potential in wind and biomass energy. According to Luis Monge, “we are opening up our market in renewable energies. We would like to make the most of the synergies between our technology and the big potential of the Argentinean market”.

R-energy has been held at a very good time, with changes in energy policies, the introduction of new legislation promoting the participation of renewable energy in the Argentinean energy mix, so that by 2016, 8% of electric energy comes from clean sources. “Latin America is a region that is undergoing considerable economic development, with growing energy needs, and which is trying to make this development sustainably. This approach is particularly in line with TAIM WESER’s renewable energy product range, and leads the company to consider this market as strategically important,” Monge stresses.

An attractive and innovative product

TAIM WESER develops, promotes and manages wind projects all around the world and markets cogeneration plants from plant biomass, using its own technology. The latter is a very technically advanced product and extremely attractive for this market, where electric and thermal, whether for heat or for cold, needs often come together.

In the renewable energy sector, the kW-h produced, which are at the same time robust and reliable, complying with the strict standards for conventional energy production plants. TAIM WESER’s biomass gasification plant perfectly answers these requirements, and is therefore a technology that was found particularly interesting in the Argentinean fair. According to Monge “our proposal has been well received due to its high level of development and competitiveness. Moreover, as it is a size adapted solution, particularly for when the generation of electric and/or thermal energy from renewable resources is required, not only for self-generation and for the sale of the energy to third parties, but also for basic equipment for sustainable rural electrification."

This highly energy-efficient, biomass gasification plant produces electric and thermal energy from any type of plant biomass (agricultural-forestry work, industrial waste, energy crops) and is offered as global energy solution, that can be adapted to each client's needs. It is a small-sized modular installation, that may be installed wherever the biomass is found and, as an added advantage, its down draft technology makes the resulting gas have a low tar content, which is essential when electricity is to be generated.

Finally, and regarding R-energy’s outcome in commercial terms, not going into detail Monge stated, “fresh ground has been broken that without a doubt will lead to fruitful results by way of project materialisation”.

TAIM WESER, S.A. emerged as a result of two companies joining together under a single brand, TAIM-TFG S.A. and WESER ENGINEERING GmbH. With installations in 58 countries and over one hundred years of experience, the company specializes in turnkey projects and avant-garde solutions oriented towards streamlining industrial processes in a sustainable, environmentally friendly approach in the following sectors: bulk materials handling, lifting, waste treatment and renewable energy.

The corporate headquarters are located in Zaragoza (Spain), where the facilities have a surface area of 64,000 m2, of which 23,500 m2 are occupied and assigned to production processes. In Germany, the company has a head office located in Bad Oeynhausen and a branch office in Saarlouis.
