Condition Monitoring Tools

Dear Experts,

I would like to know the most common & reliable condition monitoring tools ( make & models )used in conveyors to monitor the drive ( Motor & Gear box ) and the plummer blocks of the pulleys. Our motors are @1500 rpm, gear box ratio varies from 20:1 to 50:1 , conveyor speeds are 0.8 m/sec to 2.5 m/sec. The various pulleys diameter varies from 200 mm to 1600 mm.

Which conditions do you wants to monitor?

That is 1. temperature

2. RPM

3. BELT MOVING - Alignment

Hi there,

We have had pretty good luck using either the Octavis or the Multiplex systems from IFM Efector. Key to accuracy though is knowing the bearing and gear information. Otherwise you will get to know the old adage of garbage in - garbage out first hand.

It is cool as all you need is the basic set up kit and a laptop and you can pretty much do vibration analysis without expensive gear.
