Knife-edge Valve - Very High Temperature

Posted in: , on 6. Feb. 2009 - 19:27

Who provides a knife-edge valve suitable for high temperatures up to 1700 deg F (927 C) ? Can you provide a website link that takes me right to the product? This valve will contain and release carbon and ash solids upstream of a lock hopper. Thank you! - Joseph

It would be the process valve for this application. Their engineering staff would have to look at the specifics of the application on this one. Obviously they would need exotic alloys for this application, but that is the beauty of this valve. It is a fabricated design so they can make it of just about any workable metal.

True, but 1700 deg F is still red hot.

had a lot of experience with these on a blast furnace dust catcher. Look at a clyde dome valve or look at an everlasting valve (that's the name of the company - everlasting valve company). Both of these have performed better, but they will be more expensive.
