NNE Pharmaplan expands its activities in India

14 November 2008

Today NNE Pharmaplan announced the official opening of a new office in Mumbai, India. By expanding its activities in India, one of the world’s largest medicine-producing markets, NNE Pharmaplan takes an important step towards meeting the fast-growing demand for specialised engineering and consulting services from the pharma and biotech industries in the region.

India is a key strategic region for NNE Pharmaplan, with high growth rates and attractive market opportunities for the life science industry. Today, more than 20% of the world’s generic medicines are already produced in India, and the country has now more manufacturing sites approved by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) than any other country in the world outside the USA. With the addition of the Mumbai office, NNE Pharmaplan is now represented in the three most important economic development areas in the country, including also New Delhi and Bangalore.

“We experience an increasing demand for our specialised services as many pharmaceutical companies in India are preparing to take advantage of the growing market opportunities. Either by expanding and upgrading existing facilities or by establishing new internationally approved development and production sites. In both cases we are specialised in providing our clients with efficient and high-quality solutions to meet these challenges”, said Hans Ole Voigt, CEO of NNE Pharmaplan.

“India is attracting an increasing number of large international pharma and biotech companies, who wish to explore the business opportunities in the region. The cost of establishing and running manufacturing facilities in India is extremely competitive. In addition to this, India has a very large and highly skilled workforce, which makes it attractive for international companies to focus on India in their globalisation activities. With our strong presence in the country, we are ready to facilitate these companies’ efforts as well as serving the growing domestic industry”, said Hans Ole Voigt.

NNE Pharmaplan officially celebrates the opening of the new office by hosting a two-day symposium in Mumbai about technology trends for modern pharmaceutical facilities with participation of a wide range of Indian and international specialists.
