New Granule Feeder

The new Colortronic feeder CD70S is ideally suited for dosing of granules and free flowing regrind and flake material in both continuous and batching applications.

The CD70S has been developed as part of Colortronic’s ongoing improvement process based on customer feedback and experience out in the field.

The main features include:

Compact in size and low in weight

Bottom discharge of material via a slide gate

Tool free removal of feed screw from the rear

Maintenance free gears

Large screw intake area giving a more consistent feed

All material contact surfaces are corrosion resistant food grade stainless steel

Can be retro-fitted to existing lines

The feeder can be supplied in gravimetric or volumetric versions as a stand alone feeder or as part of a blender system.

New Synchronous Dosers

Colortronic has recently introduced the ‘new’ family of synchronous dosing units.

The synchronous dosing system by Colortronic (CSD) was first developed back in the early 1990’s with the introduction of the Colorblend ‘disc’ blender.

The Colorblend was probably the world’s first synchronous disc blender and provided many advantages over a traditional screw type unit, these being:

Synchronous dosing (no separation of materials)

Synchronous dosing (no mixer is required)

Dosing disc (no pulsing/surge of material)

Dosing disc (accurate even at low rates)

Defined volume discs (quick calibration routine)

The new generation of Colorblend/Synchroblend is a family using an easy to use modern Touch screen control for 1-6 additives.

This, combined with modern drive motors with inbuilt control and feedback, gives customers a cost saving unit which can pay back in the shortest possible time and is available in both gravimetric and volumetric versions.

Intelligent Energy Management

The new Dry-Flex central dryers from Colortronic have a new automatic energy control system.

The I-Tronic is an intelligent automatic air flow control that controls both air flow to the drying hoppers and the main drying cabinet.

This can save vast amounts of energy as only the required amount of energy is input into the material to ensure the consistent end moisture content is achieved.

Unlike conventional systems which cannot automatically compensate for various changes in the process such as moisture content, throughput and type of material, the I-Tronic is continually monitoring the process and changes which occur in typical processing of material and so can compensate accordingly, saving up to 50% in the input of required energy.

“In today’s climate, customers have become more aware of the benefits in saving energy throughout the plant, whilst the I-Tronic also ensures consistent drying, so further improving the customer’s end product” states Karl Miller of Colortronic (UK) Limited.
