HOW TO: Keep baghouse build up down

Posted in: , on 19. Aug. 2008 - 23:56

Did you know that just a ” of build up on an 8” ø thimble can result in a 25% reduction in airflow?

This build up causes increased air velocity through the thimble, which can quickly abrade the lower section of the filter bags. It is also true that a reduced thimble opening area will impede the discharge of dust during cleaning cycles in both shaker and reverse air baghouses.

As you can see, the need to keep the thimble area clear of build up is an important and often overlooked step in proper baghouse maintenance.
