How to calculate the MINIMUM diameter of the drum engine?

Posted in: , on 30. Jul. 2008 - 22:49

Hi, i need to know what's the math formula to calculate the minimum diameter of the drum engine.

I dont want to know that EP200 need Ø200mm to not to break,

but i want to know how the minimun for not slide with (as an example)

Force=200kg

width=600mm

speed=36mt/1'

Ømin=.......

T1/T2=exp(u x theta)?

Just simple friction theory, isn't it.

There are plenty of belt conveyor design guides. Buy one.

Hi thank's but please show me how to apply this formula in this example

F) Force=200kg

W) width=600mm

speed=36mt/1'

C) coeff. friction=0,2

A) angle=180°

Ømin=.......

T1 = Tight side belt tension

T2 = Slack side belt tension

exp = "e"

u = coefficient of friction between belt and head drum

theta = the angle of wrap of the belt around the drum

Hi designer, thank's for your reply,

I think i need for a TUTOR want you give to me a little lessons?

PS You know i speack Italiani very well but dont English? ;P

T1 (TIGHT is the upper side right?) but how i can calcolate?

T2 (SLACK is the down side right?) but how i can calcolate?

e? what's mean... 9,81???

u= ok just for this example =0,20

theta = ok just for this example =180°

...waiting for your help could you suggest to me if there are some free ebook on the net?

PS2 You know if you help me now, i've other 1000 ask for you :P ?

Think about it ok? (off course i'm playing)
