QUADRANT EPP EXPANDS QUICKSILVER® TRUCK LINERS TO OFF-ROAD INDUSTRY BY TEAMING UP WITH KOMATSU®

(Reading, PA, March 12, 2008) - Quicksilver® liners have achieved continued success due to the productivity advantage realized by over the road haulers. Expanding on that success, Quadrant EPP announced their intent to broaden use in this market to the off-road industry by teaming up with Komatsu. QuickSilver truck liners will be included as a factory option for the new HM400. This is a first for Komatsu® and the off-road truck industry.

Quadrant's QuickSilver® was chosen due to its reputation for state of the art technology, highest quality material, consistent thickness, width and quality. This commitment from a manufacturer solidifies the value a Quicksilver® liner can provide a hauler.

QUADRANT EPP BROADENS TORLON® PAI PRODUCT LINEUP

More Sizes and More Shapes of Torlon® PAI Machining Stock Now Available from Quadrant

(Reading, PA, March 11, 2008) - Engineers and designers will have more options for new or upgraded part designs with Quadrant's expanded range of Torlon® PAI shapes. Torlon is an ideal material for applications where extreme strength, stiffness, stability and wear-resistance are required. It is far more economical than most grades of PI and offers better performance in applications up to 500° F (260° C). Quadrant has exclusively produced Torlon 4203 PAI and Torlon 4301 PAI rod and sheet for several years. More and more engineers are recognizing the performance benefits of Torlon and are impressed by its value. Quadrant has been working to provide the material performance, sizes and shapes that this increasing interest is generating.

Quadrant is adding several larger rod diameters - up to 5.0" diameter for the electrical/structural grade of 4203 and up to 2.5" diameter for the bearing grade 4301. These larger diameters markedly improve yields for parts that were previously machined form sheet, and the machining of rods gives fabricators an opportunity to increase productivity.

In addition to the new sizes, a new capability to provide tube in 4203 and 4301 up to 4.0" O.D. offers additional material and machining productivity gains. These new sizes and productivity enhancing shapes offer engineers more options for high performance and severe service bearing applications where Torlon's strength, temperature and chemical resistance are necessary.

Quadrant provides many grades of Torlon including:

High Strength Grades

Torlon 4203

Torlon 4XG (also known as 5030)

Torlon 5530 (developed by, and exclusive to Quadrant)

Torlon 4XCF (also known as 7130)

Wear-resistant Grades

Torlon 4301

Torlon 4501 (developed by, and exclusive to Quadrant)

Torlon 4540 (developed by, and exclusive to Quadrant)

Specialty Grades

Semitron® ESd 520HR (developed by Quadrant for semicon device testing)

Semitron® CMP XL20 (developed by Quadrant for semicon CMP processing)

Quadrant EPP Receives Mine Safety and Health Adminstrations (MSHA) Stamp of Approval for Additional Materials

Quadrant Nylatron® GS approved for mining applications

(Reading, PA, January 25, 2008) - Quadrant Nylatron® GS has been certified by the Mine Safety and Health Administration, U.S. Department of Labor as having met the Interim Fire Criteria for acceptance (CR-130) of products taken into underground mines. This is the second grade of Quadrant Nylatron to earn this distinction. MSHA requires that all components taken into mines meet their flame-resistant criteria. Typical applications for Nylatron machinable stock are flanges, guides, rollers, pulleys and sprockets.

Quadrant received its first approval (IC-197) from MSHA for Nylatron GSM, an enhanced load bearing nylon. Nylatron GSM was initially used in a roller application. With more than 60 years of developing and manufacturing advanced machinable plastics, this group of Quadrant's enhanced nylons is the perfect solution for mining applications due to their light weight, quiet, lubrication-free running, and their ease of fabrication.

Quadrant Price Increase on TIVAR® Product Line

(Reading, PA, January 22, 2008) - Recently announced resin price increases, coupled with ongoing increases in transportation, energy and related operating costs have made it necessary for Quadrant to raise prices on TIVAR® UHMW PE and other olefin products by an average of 10%.

The increases apply to all orders shipped as of February 18th, 2008.

Our internal programs to improve efficiencies have helped offset the full impact of ongoing energy related operating costs as far as possible. However, the latest increases require us to take these actions so that we can sustain our investments for capacity and new development.
