Hi.

I am in a company which is producing feed. The feed is an agglomeate, and it has much of the characteristics of an coffe agglomarate.

The production is batchwise and about 700 Kg each.

Today we are using a vibratory screener. And we are producing agglomerates in the several ranges. 0,1-0,2mm, 0,2-0,3mm, 0,3-0,5mm, 05-0,7mm, and 0,7-1mm.

It is very important for our business to have the fractions very "clean".

The problem with the production today is that we use to much time screening the production. The feed is run over the screens several times for each fraction ensuring the fraction to be as clean as possible.

Would a centrifugal screener be better for my practice, or a Gyratory-reciprocal?

What is the basic of choosing one screener technology over another?

Basis For Choosing Screening Technologies

Just like everything in life.......there are in fact MANY CHOICES. Same deal with vibrating screens.

1. Scalper screens for large separations

2. Screening machines for middling separations

3. Fine machines for fine separations

4. Special screeners for ultra fine separations

The main deal is the finer the screening the harder and more expensive it is to do. Also, the harder the fine screening than more dollars per ton you can sell it for.

Probably a Derrick screen or a nice Tyler hummer would be a choice and of course many others fit in this catagory. Niche markets for niche ultra fine screening machines exist.

You need a machine with small enough eccentric to barely lift the tiny particles up in the air.......and you need lots of RPM (2400-3600 rpm or vpm) to introduce this fine stuff ....many many many more times than a standard screener.

You have not mentioned type of screen presently used by you.

Horizontal rotary vibraing screens are ideal for such application. You can visit the website to see such a screen

http://catalogs.indiamart.com/cgi/ca...TL&nxth=1&tpl=

These Vibratory screens are widely used for separation, classification and filter of powders, grains and many more items. They are used for both solid-solid and solid-liquid separation applications.

Vibro sifters have gyratory motion and can be manufactured in multiple deck configuration to get more than one separation simultaneously.

These screens are manufactured in various mesh size and material as per the customer's requirements. The proper selection of the vibrating screen depends on the material, mesh size, output required, method of input, abrasiveness of the material etc.
