DEM Solutions User Meeting, Edinburgh 2008

The first ever DEM Solutions User Meeting will take place on 24th and 25th April 2008 in Scotland's beautiful capital city of Edinburgh.

Since its initial launch in 2005, EDEM is now deployed by companies and research institutes in almost every industry sector and engineering discipline. EDEM is used for a wide range of particulate handling and processing applications and our users are performing among the most advanced DEM simulations in the world. The DEM Solutions User Meeting is a great opportunity for you, our first generation of EDEM users, to share in the impressive wealth of knowledge held by the experts in our user community.

The meeting aims to create a dynamic and interesting forum where current examples and technical advances can be shared and you can learn how your peers are leveraging DEM in real industry case studies, to design, develop and test particulate products and processes faster and more accurately than was previously possible.

Scotland's beautiful capital city of Edinburgh and surrounding countryside has many world-famous attractions including Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, whisky tasting and numerous golf courses. An exciting social program is planned so you can also enjoy the "Scottish Experience" to the full.

Agenda

The first additions to our user meeting agenda are:

• Carol Plouffe (John Deere) presenting "Is EDEM closing a Gap for Simulation-Based Design?"

• Michael D. Hogue, PhD (NASA) presenting "Addition of Electrostatic Forces to EDEM with Applications to Triboelectrically Charged Particles"

• Andrew Hobbs (Astec Inc) presenting "Simulation of an Aggregate Dryer Using Coupled CFD and DEM Methods"

• speaker TBC (Martin Engineering) presenting "Predicting Bulk Material Flow Behavior through Conveyor Transfers"

• Allert Adema (Netherlands Institute for Metals Research) presenting "Prediction of the cohesive zone properties in the iron making blast furnace".

The complete conference programme will be announced closer to the meeting. If you would like email notification when the programme is added to the site, send your email address to Amanda ( abatson@dem-solutions.com ).
