Coal bunker sizing(relation between height of conical and cylindrical portion)

Posted in: , on 3. Dec. 2007 - 10:52

Hello all,

I am looking after 1200MW power plant Coal Handling Plant project.

I had some doubt about the bunker sizing.

Can somebody suggest me the relation between height of conical portion to height of cylindrical portion of a bunker.

What could be the minimum discharge pipe dia?

The approximate height of the bunker is 35 meters and capacity is approximately 750 MT.

Regards,

Please provide the above input.

Employ a consultant with a proven track record of designing coal bunkers for strength and flow!

If someone offers to do this without asking for a sample of the coal to be stored so that he can test it, move on to another consultant.

The size of coal is 50mm and the coal flow required from bunker is 50 TPH.

The height I mentioned is a tentative height and it could vary.
