Handling of Cement

Posted in: , on 1. Dec. 2007 - 15:50

Our client in Malasiya would like to transport cement in bulk by railway. We forsee following options--

1. By ISO tanks.

2. By using liners in ordinarry 20 ft. container.

3. By buying the 20 ft. used/new containers from the market and

modifying their bottoms by providing air slide system for

extraction of cement.

The total quantity is about 1.5-2 mtpa. The loading of containers

shall be done by loading spout at factory end. The distance is about 200 km.Local railway do not have bulk tankers and the client is bound to use options at mentioned above.

Option no. 1- seems to be costly and requires huge investment.

Option no. 2- seems to be attractive since client do not have to invest huge as compare to option no. 1.

Option no. 3 is costlier then option no. 2 but but cheaper then option no. 1.

We also need prices for liners to be used in 20 ft. container , liners should be re-useable and have special features to meet the requirement.

We need comments from the Hon. members of this forum on the above.

Regards,

Anil
