Günter Bachmann appointed CEO at Coperion Group

Stuttgart, August 2007 – Effective as of July 19, 2007, Günter Bachmann (52) has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Stuttgart-based Coperion Group. A member of the company's management board for 3 years, Mr. Bachmann has formerly held the posts of Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the Coperion Group. He is an internationally experienced executive with an in-depth background in mechanical engineering, industrial equipment manufacturing and the associated customer support business, having been active in these segments for many years. His career spans 15 years in senior management functions, including postings in Asia and the U.S.

The two other members of the Coperion Group's managing board, also as of July 19, 2007, are Axel Kiefer and Wolfgang Pöschl. Mr. Kiefer has been managing director of Coperion Waeschle of Weingarten since early 2002, while Mr. Pöschl has served with Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer of Stuttgart, likewise in a managing director's capacity since mid-2006. Each will remain responsible for his respective operating unit. Both officers have accumulated many years of experience in previous management positions in the Coperion Group.

The Coperion Group, together with the companies Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer, Coperion Waeschle, Coperion Keya, Coperion Hartmann and 20 sales and service companies, is an international market and technology leader for compounding systems and bulk-material systems. Coperion designs, supplies and maintains systems, machines and components for the plastics, chemicals, pharmaceuticals and food industries. In the 2006 financial year, Coperion achieved sales to the tune of 446 million euros, and employs around 2,100 staff as at 31.12.2006.
