Dryer For Your Gypsum

Erstellt am 24. May. 2007 - 04:46

Jake,

Our twin shaft paddle dryer would most probably do a great job of drying your gypsum down to 0.1% moisture. The GPD (Gouda Paddle Dryer) features simple operation, high energy efficiencies and the long residence times and product agitation you will need to attain that low final moisture number.

Steam or thermal oil may be used as the heating medium, and if you require a complete system supply, we would be happy to offer it to you.

You can read more about our dryers at www.gmfgouda.com, and please feel free to call me at 816-505-9900 to discuss your application in detail.

Dryer Option For Wet Synthetic Gypsum

Erstellt am 25. May. 2007 - 07:49

Dear Jake:

AVA’s continuous horizontal paddle dryer (Model HTK) would be an ideal choice to reach your final moisture specification. AVA’s single shaft design is very efficient with higher product throughput and a smaller installation footprint. The HTK paddle dryer has a large heated surface area, effective backing mixing for a homogeneous product mixture, long residence times, and intensive product agitation.

Drying Synthetic Gypsum

I am looking for a fluid bed dryer to dry 10tph of synthetic gypsum that has 8%fm. I want to take it down to 0.1%fm. Flash drying works well but I would like to find something to reduce dust collection costs and power. Any ideas on vendors that can supply this equipment is appreciated.

Might be too late, as I just came across this. You definitley want to look at a pneumatic type of dryer, such as the flash dryer or Tornesh dryer from Carrier. You would need such a low fluidization velocity that the size of the fluid bed would be huge and not economical.

Dear Jake,

To add further confusion to your process problem, you may want to contemplate on using HOLO-FLO units. These are essentially hollow flights screws with jacketed housing. The heat transfer medium is circulated into the flights and housing so there is no contact between the heat transfer medium and product. Several hollow screws maybe installed parallel to each other to handle the capacity. If you are interested and require further info, please send your application info to jiggger2003@yahoo.com and we can provide you with sizing and pricing estimates.

Please check the date of this thread as it is 8 years old. mackulky was only a guest at the time and most likely has not returned to the site. Therefore I highly doubt you will get a response from him.

But on the other hand if you do happen to look at post #12 you might just find some very interesting information for yourself.
