Process Technology Expo
Canon Communications Launches Co-Located Process Technology Expo International
International Powder & Bulk Solids Exhibition expands to four co-located expos embracing allied, but underserved chemical processing, pharmaceutical processing and process packaging markets:
International Powder & Bulk Solids • PharmaProcess • ChemProcess • ProcessPack
Donald E. Stephens Convention Center • Rosemont, IL • May 6-8, 2008
Los Angeles, CA (May 1, 2007) – Canon Communications today announced the launch of Process Technology Expo International, an all-industry umbrella event designed to meet the needs of processing, production and packaging engineers, and facilities and operations managers who are responsible for processing, handling, packaging, testing, storing, tracking and transporting dry particulates, bulk solids, liquid and gaseous materials for every process industry and application. The three-day, biennial event, set for May 6-8, 2008 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, significantly expands the focus of the International Powder & Bulk Solids Exhibition to include all processed materials—dry, liquid and compressed air/gas products—from a wide range of industries, including food, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, rubber and plastics, paper and pulp, paints and coatings, mining, petroleum, glass, and others. The event includes a conference program, which begins a day before the exposition on May 5th. The overall combined event will include 650 exhibiting companies occupying 170,000 net square feet with attendance expected to reach 20,000.
The expanded show provides a market-based, unified perspective on the full range of processing technologies, products, equipment, systems and services while offering dedicated events focusing on powder and bulk solids processing, chemical processing, pharmaceutical processing, and packaging solutions for the processing industries.
Commenting on the announcement, Kevin O’Keefe, vice president of Canon’s event division, said, “This is a natural expansion of the Powder & Bulk Solids Show, which was established 1976. After acquiring the event last year, we talked with exhibitors, attendees, and representatives from industry associations. We soon discovered that most exhibitors supply a wide range of processing companies across the industrial landscape. Similarly, our discussions with key attendees and research revealed that many of these companies are involved in processing the full spectrum of dry and liquid materials. By providing a full-featured event in Process Technology Expo International, we can offer suppliers the most cost-effective way to reach the entire processing market, while providing buyers and process engineers with an efficient, one-stop resource for all of their product, equipment and service needs—for every processing industry…and every application.”
The International Powder & Bulk Solids Exhibition has an established history of attracting a sizeable number of attendees from key centers of process manufacturing around the world. O’Keefe notes that the expanded focus of Process Technology Expo International will likely increase global participation, and will be of particular interest to the region, which is home to a significant number of processing plants. “It’s an underserved market”, says O’Keefe, “There are over 4,700 food processing plants, 2,800 chemical processors, and 100 pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in the immediate five state region which is in close proximity to the show. Collectively, these plants employ over 475,000 and generate annual revenues of $203 billion.”
The launch of Process Technology Expo International with its four synergistic shows and heart-of-market location, taps into the particular strengths of Los Angeles-based Canon Communications, the largest organizer of manufacturing events in North America.
