Buffalo Forge Cyclones
Thanks Bob,
In the old days we used to look up the Buffalo Forge Fan Handbook, used our trusty sliderule, and came up with a fair design.
Cyclones are velocity/particle size sensitive. So the old sliderule method usually worked with sawdust, or woodchips, but don't expect it to cut out a specific particle size.

Hi John,
I Remember those days - in fact I still have my K&E slide rule. It has been retired for 35 years after I got my first TI electronic calculator. It had a memory function I thought I had the ultimate calculator. Funny how years and technology makes one realize how little I knew then and now.
Regards

Re: Cyclone Design
Did your slide rule come in a pretty orange case with a hook to attach to your belt like mine has??
Those were the days my friend! ■

Hi all,
Re EZZE CYCLONE
I have a cyclone design/evaluation program Ezze Cyclone on my website www.ezzesoft.com which may be of interest to you!
The program is versatile with a databank of 10 cyclone types, 5 different gas systems including a user defined system any of which can be used in the cyclone calculations by simply clicking a button. In addition, the program calculates cyclone efficiency using the two most commonly used methods (Lapple and Shepherd and Leith and Licht) plus many key
cyclone evaluation parameters ++ more
Cost 14.95USD with features equal to packages hundreds more. ■
