Cement Conveying
What is the width of the belt your are using for the cement transfer?
Unless you upgrade/modify/enlarge the the transfer chutes for all the belts to increase the area in the transfer points to allow passage of more cement you will have plugging as the belt will be unable to take the larger amount of volume away to the head pulley end of the belt. ■
Re: Ideal Speed For Conveying Cement
Dear Shri Harish Kumar R,
For heavy powdery material like cement, one can use belt speed up to 1.25 mps for belt width of 650 mm. If the belt is wider, speed up to 1.5 mps can be also used.

Re: Ideal Speed For Conveying Cement
You can exceed 2 m/s, if the chute design does not introduce excessive gas into the floow stream and does preserve the tranlational velocity onto the next belt. ■

Ideal speed for conveying cement
Dear all,
Can anyone suggest me the Ideal speed for conveying cement through belt conveyors, As I am already aware 0.5 M/s is preferred as per CEMA. But the query is different. My client is running the belt at 1M/s and they are upgrading it which needs capacity increasing, hence I have to convey atleast 1.2 m/s to meet their new capacity. Please suggest me an ideal speed or any other special arrangemnets to convey the cement through belt conveyors. ■
