I run the rubber division of a vulcanising company in the U.K and during my 8 years in belt splicing have come across many methods of splicing a belt in preperation for a cold joint , in particular the way the bottom is sealed i.e some splicers butt the bottom and then place a feather edge strip over the ' butt ' others add an extra inch on to the last step and chamfer it into the bottom cover ,.
I am interested in what methods you prefer ? and reasons for your particular method.
