Very straightforward. Go to one of the CDRom Emporia in any large Asian city & splash out about $20 on unboxed copies of SolidWorks, 3D Visual Nastran & CosmosWorks. Put them in the slot; follow the crack; build your model, stress it, apply the constraints in the 3D Visual Nastran, in fact you can even decide which planet you are conveying across. If you buy SW 2007 there is a belt mate command which, apart from the usual expectations of modern software, can flip the belt across the drum axis & if you specify the belt length it will adjust the chosen pulley centre to suit. Anything less then that is now in the dark ages.With 3D VN you can specify belt moduli, friction coefficients & motor torque characteristics.
You will finish up with a .avi file anyway & nobody will know you didn't invest vast amounts of hard earned wodge to accomplish the task. I personally would never use such software on such a mundane task. ;-) ■
