Triboelectrical dustsensor

Posted in: , on 24. Aug. 2006 - 11:27

We have just installed a triboelectrical dustsensor for continuous tracking of the residual dust in our central exhaust stack.

It works marvelously!

We get a digital readout ranging between 30-40% at approximately 8 mg/m3.

What emissionlevel will we get at 80% readout?

Application cattlefeed factory, exhaust stack diameter 1.300mm.,

flow 87.000 m3/h.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Andre,

The output is supposed to be linear therefore, the emission at 80% should be double that at 40%.

The instruction book should tell you that!

What is your exhaust stack exhausting? Baghouse, cyclone or just general ventilation?

Dear Michael,

Thanks for your quick response!

We did not receive this info along the instruction manual.

The exhaust is from several baghouses.

Best regards,

Andr

Andre,

These devices are commonly used as "broken bag detectors" (but I guess you know that). A sudden increase in emissions, setting off an alarm, alerts you to a problem with the baghouse.
