Horrizontal Curve

Erstellt am 17. Jul. 2006 - 04:00

Dear sir

pipe conveyor horizontal radius depends on following factors

1.0 tension st radius location

2.0 belt rigidity

3.0 Idler spacing

4.0 pipe diameter

while doing actual installation radius is checked based on above factors . Higher the tension higher radius

As a thumb rule for seeing feasibility of conveyor for fabric belt you can assume minimum radius as 300 times the pipe dia

Dear Sir,

It is possible to keep lesser radius(may be 250 times or so ) if there is space constraint, however the idler spacing will have to be reduced suitably.

It is advisible for verification by calculations.

Dear Sirs

Yes 300 times pipe diameter is only nominal perameter in can be less even 200 times but depends on angle negotiated, belt tension, belt construction, where it is on the conveyor near head or near tail etc.

Dear Sir,

Alternatively to the pipe conveyor you can consider to use an EBS Conveyor. An alternative way of enclosed conveying which enabels much smaller horizontal curves as a pipe conveyor.

For the EBS 800 the horizontal radius is 8 meters

For the EBS 1400 the horizontal cradius is 16 meters.

Horizontal Curve

Dear Sirs,

Horizontal curve is depend on type of fabric being used & the tension rating. As per JPC for NN belt it should be 300 times the diameter minimum & that for steel cord 700 times of diameter. Also depends on curvature angle also.

Regards.
