We seek an individual who will provide pre sales support to customers on large and complex integrated mechanical system projects and who can assess customer requirements and develop sales proposals for material handling and conveying solutions. This support will comprise telephone and email questions and problem solving as well as occasional visits to customer sites to assess progress and to coordinate installation of systems and components.

This position is located at the company headquarters in Montgomery, IL, in the western suburbs of Chicago.

•Work is mainly from a suburban Chicago area office with frequent visits to Coal Burning Utility Power Plants. Multi-talented person to analyze and propose detailed engineering solutions for dust mitigation systems.

•Develops comprehensive proposals for projects requiring the company’s products. These proposals include design, fabrication and installation timelines, costs and pricing.

•Provides pre-sale technical support to sales and service personnel as well as customers.

•Identifies customer problem or task to be accomplished; reviews specifications and determines specific component that are required to accomplish the task.

•Prepares estimates and is required to meet budget constraints. Provides system designs and engineering configuration details to meet requirements

•Provides product proposals, including text, pricing, preliminary design details and drawings

•Researches new products to incorporate into system designs

•Periodically manages and oversees the installation crew or contractor in the application and installation of systems

•Supports sales efforts through in person, effective presentation of technical proposals and product information

•Functionally supervises and is accountable for conducting product testing prior to delivery and installation at customer site

•Periodically monitors in-field testing of new systems

•Performs additional projects and activities as may from time to time be required.

o3 years minimum experience in application engineering with material handling systems

oPosition requires substantial mobility and dexterity to function throughout the facility and on customer work sites

oAbility to travel extensively (up to 40%,US only)

•High PC proficiency with MS access, Word and Excel

•Batchelor’s degree (BSME, BSCE or BSMET

•Project management experience on complex long cycle sales proposals

•Effective persuasive skills and listening skills is required

•ACAD experience is preferred
